Cookie Policy

DRAFT — pending outside-counsel review. This document has not been reviewed or approved by counsel. The list of cookies below describes what Teraplex anticipates deploying once the site goes live; the production cookie inventory will be reconciled to this list before the effective date.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Some persist across visits ("persistent" cookies); some disappear when you close the tab ("session" cookies). They let the site remember things — that you have already accepted a banner, that you prefer a certain layout, that a security check has been passed. "Similar technologies" means anything that performs a comparable function — local storage, session storage, pixel tags, fingerprinting fragments. We treat all of these together for purposes of consent.

2. The three tiers

Our cookie-consent banner sorts cookies into three tiers. The tier names match exactly the tier names you will see in the banner.

  • Essential. Required for the site to function or to be safe. They cannot be turned off, because turning them off would either break the site or leave it open to abuse.
  • Functional. Improve usability — remembering preferences, supporting privacy-first analytics. Off by default in jurisdictions that require opt-in; on by default elsewhere; revocable at any time.
  • Marketing. Help us understand which campaigns and content brought you to the site and let us follow up with relevant business communications. Off by default in jurisdictions that require opt-in; revocable at any time.

Opt-out: through the cookie-preferences link in the footer (revocable at any time), through the Global Privacy Control signal, or by clearing site data and blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

4. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We treat the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of marketing-tier cookies and as an opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" under California law and "targeted advertising" under the other state laws that recognize universal opt-out signals. We also treat a Do Not Track header as a request not to set marketing-tier cookies.

5. Browser-level controls

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Doing so will not impair the essential cookies needed for the site to function (the browser will still allow them per session), but it will disable the functional and marketing cookies we set.

6. Revisiting your consent

You can revisit and change your consent at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before you withdrew it, but it stops further use of the affected categories from that point forward.

7. Updates

When we add or remove a cookie or change a tier, we will update the table above and the "Last updated" date. If the change is material — for example, adding a new third-party marketing cookie — we will re-prompt for consent in jurisdictions that require it.
